So although It has already been 3 weeks since the September Holidays, but in the first week I attended Theatre Residency Weekk (TRW) held by Queensland Theatre Company (QTC). It was a week long course held in Brisbane :) It was one of the best weeks in ages, and I'd been looking forward to it all year!!  So for now I'll just say what happened and shall give more details once this is done... if you have any questions or what more information Just comment or message me :)

So what happens is that you get one core group that you attend each day, I got Musical theatre wuth Megan Shorey and was absolutely estatic when I found out! Then you get to pick four workshops which you do for 4 hours on one day. I got play writing with David Burton, shakespeare with Frankie Savige, cinematic theatre by Maxwell presents and phyical theatre with Zen Zen Zo. It was AMAZZZINNGGG!!!!! On the Monday we had Grin & Tonic come to where we were stayind and perfrom two plays for us, "Revolt" and  "I am Romeo and Juliet". The first one was directed by a good friend of mine Travis Dowling and it was a great play. Two student bicker with each other on which play they should do Hamlet or Macbeth ahah in the end it end up turing out be like Macbeth where they kill the Productions director and freak out about it. On the Tuesday we went and saw QTC production of "Kelly" at QPAC. It was so good. the enitre play was based around a theory where Dan Kelly visits Ned in his gaol cell in Melbourne. It had one of my favourite actors in it - Steven Rooke- it was great play, quite simple but effective and interesting.

The next day we had an industry night where we got to meet John Batchelor (Australian Actor; Red Dog, UnderBelly and Sea Patrol), Anna McGahan (Australian stage/film actorUnderBelly, Julius Ceasar), David Burton (Australian PlayWright; April's Fool, Lazarus), Mattew Ryan (Astralian Play Wright; Kelly, Boy Girl Wall) and Tim Dashwood (Australian Stage Actor; Romeo & Juliet, Managing Carmen). Meeting all these wonderful artists was amazing. They gave us some great tips for University, playwrighting, told us how they got to the job in life.

Then THURSDAY!!! Great, great, great night :D We had performance space, which is where anyone who wanted to perform in font of all of us could sign up and do whatever, dancing, singing, acting, flooing around whatever!!! Some of the things that people did were absolutely HILARIOUS! hahah like there was this one group who just got up and did Gungnam Style. It was so perfectly done and was hilarious, they all drew on fake moustaches and monobrows :) All week I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do.. but I ended up doing a dance that we did for ballet in our recent dance concert. A  friend of mine Finn, got up with me whilst I danced and did my thing on stage he played the music.. he was sitting at the piano playing "A River Flows In You" by Yiruma. It was so beautiful, I just wish i had a recording of it haha.

Then on Friday the final day :'( Each group spent all day rehearsing for the final show case. Then at 1pm we got a bus over to the QTC's Billie Brown Studio where we had a tech run for that night. Musical Theatre was first up. We kind of set the mood for the rest of night as all week we had been rehearsing a Classic Musical theatre medley then finished it off with a song that we had all written together which was based aorund our lives, dreams, future and goals. After the show had finsihed wwe could catch up with our family and friends whoever came and saw us that night. After that we all got the buses back to the campus and partied all night in the boys dorms! We had a toga party and just did Gungnam Style had a blast.

On the saturday morning we had to pack up and leave :'( My dorm buddy Kate had left the night before so it wasn't that much fun staying by myself hahha. In the morning everyone said goodbye to the people in year 12 who had their final year (cried even) it was so sad and depressing saying goodbye to people who I would see until another year go by. We also took tonnes of photos to savour the memories and said Adios Amigos!!

Since then on the second week of the holidays we had this big TRW get together at south bank! Fun, fun, fun!!! Just a little something something for you there to read. More detail to come :)
